Senior Counsel

Ivelina Buyuklieva is Senior Associate Attorney at Lazarus Karp LLP. Ms. Buyuklieva has more than 10 years of experience in landlord-tenant litigation.

 

Ms. Buyuklieva started her carrier as an In-House Counsel for a management company with a portfolio of 100 buildings located in all 5 boroughs of New York City. Her more than 4 years experience with the company gave Ms. Buyuklieva a thorough and full understanding of the process of managing a building in New York City, which experience shaped Ms. Buyuklieva as an excellent and thorough litigator for her clients in Housing Court and which enables her to understand and advise accordingly her clients as to aspects of a litigation that are more practical and proper from a business perspective.

 

Ms. Buyuklieva has been appearing on behalf of her clients before the Supreme Court in various litigations, including contract litigation, construction litigation, and Article 78 proceedings.

Ms. Buyuklieva has also extensive experience with defending on behalf of her clients DHCR proceedings, proceedings brought before the Criminal Court for violations issued from Fire Department, ECB, and other various City Agencies.

Ms. Buyulkieva is a passionate, educated, and thorough litigator. Her clients’ needs, best interest, and satisfactory results are always her prime goal and concern.

 

Ms. Buyuklieva has vast experience with drafting and defending motion practices before the Civil and Supreme Courts. Ms. Buyuklieva is respected and well regarded by the bench and her colleagues.

Ms. Buyuklieva received her J.D. from Europe where she practiced as an attorney for 2 years before coming to the United States of America and graduating successfully LLM Program in American Legal Studies from Hofstra University School of Law. Ms. Buyuklieva was admitted to practice in 2010.
