Demitri Giannakakis joined Lazarus Karp Ehrlich McCourt, LLP in 2023, bringing with him over 15 years of experience and expertise in New York landlord-tenant litigation.   In 2003, Demitri earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with honors from St. Johns University.  Demitri then obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from Western Michigan University, Cooley Law School in 2007.

Prior to joining the firm, Demitri worked at both a major regional law firm specializing in representing property owners in landlord-tenant and other real estate matters, and a litigation boutique providing comprehensive, individualized services to owners with large portfolios. Throughout his years of practice, Demitri has gained extensive experience in trial work and complex litigation on behalf of landlords, with a particular focus on the unique issues facing property owners in New York City's regulatory environment across the five boroughs.

Demitri is an avid supporter of his local community's culinary traditions, and enjoys rooting for his St. Johns' sports teams.
